History

To Francois Giraud, architect, we owe the lovely 1851 Ursuline Academy buildings. (The Club Giraud occupies the Academy's "dependencies" - early kitchen, carriage sheds, music rooms, laundry.)

To Francois Giraud, conservationist, we owe San Antonio's first public park, San Pedro Springs. In 1852 he persuaded the city fathers to set aside the plot of land around the Springs, making it the second public park in the United States, the first being Boston. His pioneer efforts preceded by five years Olmstead's plans for Central Park in New York.

IMPORTANT DRESS CODE REMINDER

PLEASE ADVISE YOUR GUEST OF OUR DRESS CODE POLICY (BLUE JEANS, DENIM, TENNIS SHOES AND T-SHIRTS ARE UNACCEPTABLE.)

ANYONE WITH INAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ACCESS TO CLUB GIRAUD.

Please keep in mind our lounge and bar are open from 11:00 a.m. until we close at night.  If you would like to have cocktail, iced tea, or a quiet place to meet socially or with a business client, feel free to stop by for a cool refreshing beverage.  Our club is also available for family or business meetings.  We will arrange private rooms for you with everything you need, to include lunch, afternoon snacks, and/or dinner.

Many of our members have found it beneficial to have breakfast meetings with service from continental breakfast to a full buffet or seated breakfast.  Please give us a call and we will be happy to arrange meetings for you.

About the Club

Club Giraud is a Private Dining Club for Members Only and their invited guest.  The purpose of Club Giraud is to support and encourage the Southwest School of Arts and Craft conservation and educational activities.
